Hadith 989:1
Bahz and Abu al-Nadr narrated to us, they said: Sulayman ibn al-Mughirah narrated to us, Humayd narrated to us, he said: Abu al-Aliyah came to me, and to a companion of mine, and he said to us: "Come, for you two are younger in age than I, and more retentive of hadith than I." He said: So he went with us to Bishr ibn Asim. He said: Abu al-Aliyah said to him: "Narrate to these two your hadith." He said: Uqbah ibn Malik narrated to us—Abu al-Nadr al-Laythi said, and Bahz said: "And he was from his kin"—he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent a military detachment. He said: So it raided a people. He said: A man from the people escaped. He said: A man from the detachment followed him, drawing his sword. He said: The one who escaped from the people said: "I am a Muslim." He said: He did not look into what he said, so he struck him and killed him. He said: The news reached the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He said: He spoke harshly regarding it. The news reached the killer. He said: While the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was delivering a sermon, the killer said: "O Messenger of Allah, by Allah, he did not say what he said except to seek refuge from being killed." He said: He turned away from him and from those of the people who were before him, and continued his sermon. Then he said again: "O Messenger of Allah, he did not say what he said except to seek refuge from being killed." Then he could not be patient, so he said it a third time: "O Messenger of Allah, by Allah, he did not say it except to seek refuge from being killed." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) turned to him, and displeasure was recognized on his face. He said to him: "Verily, Allah the Almighty has refused [forgiveness] for the one who kills a believer," three times.
حدثنا بهز، وأبو النضر قالا: حدثنا سليمان بن المغيرة، حدثنا حميد قال: أتاني أبو العالية أنا وصاحبا لي قال: فقال لنا: هلما فأنتما أشب مني سنا، وأوعى للحديث مني قال: فانطلق بنا إلى بشر بن عاصم قال: فقال له أبو العالية تحدث هذين حديثك قال: حدثنا عقبة بن مالك قال: أبو النضر الليثي قال بهز، وكان من رهطه، قال: بعث رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم سرية قال: فأغارت على قوم قال: فشذ من القوم رجل قال: فأتبعه رجل من السرية شاهرا سيفه قال: فقال الشاذ من القوم: إني مسلم. قال: فلم ينظر فيما قال. فضربه فقتله. قال: فنمى الحديث إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: فقال فيه قولا شديدا، فبلغ القاتل قال: فبينا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يخطب إذ قال القاتل: يا رسول الله، والله ما قال الذي قال إلا تعوذا من القتل. قال: فأعرض عنه ، وعمن قبله من الناس، وأخذ في خطبته، ثم قال أيضا: يا رسول الله ، ما قال الذي قال إلا تعوذا من القتل، فأعرض عنه وعمن قبله من الناس وأخذ في خطبته، ثم لم يصبر فقال الثالثة: يا رسول الله، والله ما قال إلا تعوذا من القتل: فأقبل عليه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، تعرف المساءة في وجهه، قال له: " إن الله عز وجل أبى على لمن قتل مؤمنا " ثلاث مرات . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
