Hadith 451:1
'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, Sulayman ibn al-Mughirah al-Qaysi narrated to us, he said: Humayd ibn Hilal narrated to us, he said: Bishr ibn 'Asim al-Laythi narrated to me, from 'Uqbah ibn Malik—and he was of his kin—he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent out a military detachment, and I armed a man with a sword. He said: When he returned, he said: "I have not seen anything like the way the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) blamed us." He said: "Were you incapable, when I sent a man and he did not carry out my command, of putting in his place someone who would carry out my command?"
حدثنا عبد الصمد، حدثنا سليمان بن المغيرة القيسي، قال: حدثنا حميد بن هلال، قال: حدثني بشر بن عاصم الليثي، عن عقبة بن مالك - وكان من رهطه -، قال: بعث رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم سرية، فسلحت رجلا سيفا. قال: فلما رجع، قال: ما رأيت مثل ما لامنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " أعجزتم إذ بعثت رجلا، فلم يمض لأمري أن تجعلوا مكانه من يمضي لأمري؟ "
