Hadith 766:1
Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, Shu'bah informed us, from Qatadah, from Anas ibn Malik, from Usayd ibn Hudayr, may Allah be pleased with them both, who said: A man from the Ansar said: "O Messenger of Allah, will you not appoint me [to a position of authority] as you appointed so-and-so?" The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "You will encounter selfishness after me, so be patient until you meet me tomorrow at the Basin."
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون، أخبرنا شعبة، عن قتادة، عن أنس بن مالك، عن أسيد بن حضير رضي الله عنهما قال: قال رجل من الأنصار: يا رسول الله، ألا تستعملني كما استعملت فلانا؟ فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " ستلقون بعدي أثرة فاصبروا حتى تلقوني غدا على الحوض "
