Hadith 766:3
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, he said: I heard Qatadah narrating from Anas ibn Malik, from Usayd ibn Hudayr, may Allah be pleased with them both, who said: A man from the Ansar took the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, aside and said: "Will you not appoint me as you appointed so-and-so?" He said: "You will encounter selfishness after me, so be patient until you meet me at the Basin (al-Hawd)."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر، حدثنا شعبة قال: سمعت قتادة يحدث، عن أنس بن مالك، عن أسيد بن حضير رضي الله عنهما قال: إن رجلا من الأنصار تخلى برسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال: ألا تستعملني كما استعملت فلانا؟ قال : " إنكم ستلقون بعدي أثرة فاصبروا حتى تلقوني على الحوض "
