Musnad Ahmad 848:1

Waki’ narrated to us, Qurrah narrated to us, from Humayd ibn Hilal al-‘Adawi, from a man among them who is called Khalid ibn ‘Umayr. Abu Na’amah said: I heard it from Khalid ibn ‘Umayr, who said: ‘Utbah ibn Ghazwan addressed us—Abu Na’amah said: upon the pulpit, though Qurrah did not mention that—and he said: "Behold, the world has announced its departure and has turned away swiftly. Nothing remains of it except a remnant like the dregs in a vessel. You are in a dwelling from which you are moving on, so move on with the best of what you have with you. For I have seen myself as one of seven with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), having no food to eat except the leaves of trees, until the corners of our mouths became ulcerated." Abu ‘Abd al-Rahman said: I heard my father say: "No one narrated this hadith except Waki’, meaning that it is *gharib* (rare)."
