Hadith of Utbah ibn Ghazwan from the Prophet (SAW)
حديث عتبة بن غزوان عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم
Hadith 510:0
It was narrated from Utbah ibn Ghazwan that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Verily, the distance between the two door-frames of the gates of Paradise is a journey of forty years, and there will come upon it a day when it is crowded with people." And I have seen myself as the seventh of seven with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and we had nothing to eat except the leaves of trees, until the corners of our mouths became sore. I found a garment, so I tore it in two and shared it between myself and Sa'd ibn Malik, so I wrapped half of it around my waist and he wrapped half of it around his waist. Today, there is not one of us but that he has become a governor over one of the cities. And I seek refuge in Allah lest I be great in my own soul and small in the sight of Allah.
