Musnad Ahmad 510:2

Bahz ibn Asad narrated to us, Sulayman ibn al-Mughirah narrated to us, Humayd—meaning Ibn Hilal—narrated to us, from Khalid ibn Umayr, who said: Utbah ibn Ghazwan delivered a sermon—Bahz said: And he said before this time: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) delivered a sermon to us—he said: He praised Allah and extolled Him, then said: "To proceed: The world has announced its departure and has turned away swiftly, and there remains of it nothing but a remnant like the dregs of a vessel, which its owner gathers. You are moving from it to a home that has no end, so move with the best of what you have with you. For it has been mentioned to us that a stone is thrown from the edge of Hell, and it falls into it for seventy years without reaching its bottom. By Allah, you will surely fill it; are you amazed? By Allah, it has been mentioned to us that the distance between the two door-leaves of Paradise is a journey of forty years, and there will surely come upon it a day of stifling crowding. And I have seen myself as one of seven with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), having no food except tree leaves, until the corners of our mouths became ulcerated. I found a cloak, so I tore it in two between myself and Sa’d; he wrapped himself with half of it, and I wrapped myself with half of it. Yet, there is no one among us today who has not become an amir (governor) over one of the cities. And I seek refuge in Allah from being great in my own estimation while being small in the sight of Allah. There has never been a prophethood but that it was succeeded by another, until its end resulted in kingship. And you will be tested, or you will be informed of the amirs after us."
