Hadith 477:4
Hassan ibn Musa narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, al-Harith ibn Yazid narrated to us, from al-Bara' ibn Uthman al-Ansari, from Hani' ibn Mu'awiyah al-Sadafi, who narrated to him, saying: I performed Hajj during the time of Uthman ibn Affan, and I sat in the Mosque of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Suddenly, a man was speaking to them, saying: We were with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, one day, when a man approached and prayed at this pillar. He hurried before completing his prayer, then he left. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "If this man were to die, he would die while not being upon anything of the religion. Indeed, a man may lighten his prayer while [still] completing it." He said: So I asked about the man, who he was? And it was said: Uthman ibn Hunayf al-Ansari.
