Hadith 89:1
Husayn ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Abu Uways narrated to us, Sharhabil narrated to us, from Uwaym ibn Sa'idah al-Ansari, that he narrated to him: That the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, came to them at the Mosque of Quba and said: "Indeed, Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, has praised you well regarding the purification in the story of your mosque. So what is this purification with which you purify yourselves?" They said: "By Allah, O Messenger of Allah, we do not know anything except that we had neighbors among the Jews, and they used to wash their backsides after defecation, so we washed just as they washed."
حدثنا حسين بن محمد، حدثنا أبو أويس، حدثنا شرحبيل، عن عويم بن ساعدة الأنصاري، أنه حدثه: أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أتاهم في مسجد قباء فقال: " إن الله تبارك وتعالى قد أحسن عليكم الثناء في الطهور في قصة مسجدكم، فما هذا الطهور الذي تطهرون به؟ " قالوا: والله يا رسول الله، ما نعلم شيئا إلا أنه كان لنا جيران من اليهود، فكانوا يغسلون أدبارهم من الغائط فغسلنا كما غسلوا . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
