Musnad Ahmad 1238:1

Waki’ and Hajjaj narrated to us, they said: Shu’bah narrated to us, from Simak, who said: I heard ‘Alqamah ibn Wa’il, from his father, that he witnessed the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and a man from Khath’am—who was called Suwayd ibn Tariq—asked him about alcohol, so he forbade him. He said: "It is only something we make as a medicine." The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "It is only a disease."
