Hadith 687:21
'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Sufyan informed us, from 'Asim ibn Kulayb, from his father, from Wa'il ibn Hujr, who said: "I saw the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say the takbir, and he raised his hands when he said the takbir—meaning when he commenced the prayer. And he raised his hands when he said the takbir, and he raised his hands when he bowed, and he raised his hands when he said: 'Allah hears those who praise Him.' And he prostrated, and he placed his hands level with his ears. Then he sat and spread out his left leg, then he placed his left hand on his left knee, and he placed his right forearm on his right thigh. Then he gestured with his index finger, and he placed the thumb upon the middle finger, and he closed the rest of his fingers. Then he prostrated, and his hands were level with his ears."
