Hadith 687:22
'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Isra'il informed us, from Simak ibn Harb, from 'Alqama ibn Wa'il al-Hadrami, from his father, that a man called Suwayd ibn Tariq asked the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, about wine, and he forbade him from it. He said, "I make it for medicine." The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, "It is a disease and not a medicine."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق، أخبرنا إسرائيل، عن سماك بن حرب، عن علقمة بن وائل الحضرمي، عن أبيه، أن رجلا يقال له: سويد بن طارق، سأل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم عن الخمر، فنهاه عنها ، فقال: إني أصنعها للدواء، فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: " إنها داء وليست بدواء "
