Hadith 687:39
Aswad ibn Amir narrated to us, Zuhayr ibn Mu’awiyah narrated to us, from ‘Asim ibn Kulayb, that his father informed him, that Wa’il ibn Hujr informed him, saying: I said, "I will surely look at the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) to see how he prays." So he stood and raised his hands until they were level with his ears, then he took his left hand with his right hand. Then he said: When he intended to bow, he raised his hands until they were level with his ears, then he placed his hands on his knees. Then he rose and raised his hands like that. Then he prostrated and placed his hands level with his ears. Then he sat and spread out his left leg, and placed his left palm on his left knee—his thigh, in the description of ‘Asim—then he placed the edge of his right elbow on his right thigh, and clenched thirty, and made a circle. Then I saw him saying like this—and Zuhayr gestured with his index finger, and clenched two fingers, and made a circle with the thumb and the second index finger. Zuhayr said: ‘Asim said, and ‘Abd al-Jabbar narrated to me, from some of his family, that Wa’il said: I came to him another time, and the people were wearing garments that had hoods and cloaks, and I saw them saying like this under the garments.
حدثنا أسود بن عامر، حدثنا زهير بن معاوية، عن عاصم بن كليب، أن أباه أخبره، أن وائل بن حجر أخبره قال: قلت: لأنظرن إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم كيف يصلي، " فقام فرفع يديه حتى حاذتا أذنيه، ثم أخذ شماله بيمينه، ثم قال: حين أراد أن يركع، رفع يديه حتى حاذتا بأذنيه، ثم وضع يديه على ركبتيه، ثم رفع فرفع يديه مثل ذلك، ثم سجد فوضع يديه حذاء أذنيه، ثم قعد فافترش رجله اليسرى، ووضع كفه اليسرى على ركبته اليسرى، فخذه في صفة عاصم، ثم وضع حد مرفقه الأيمن على فخذه اليمنى، وقبض ثلاثين ، وحلق حلقة. ثم رأيته يقول هكذا، وأشار زهير بسبابته الأولى، وقبض إصبعين، وحلق الإبهام على السبابة الثانية "، قال زهير: قال عاصم، وحدثني عبد الجبار، عن بعض أهله، أن وائلا قال: أتيته مرة أخرى وعلى الناس ثياب فيها البرانس وفيها الأكسية، فرأيتهم يقولون: هكذا تحت الثياب
