Musnad Ahmad 447:12
Hadith of Wathila ibn al-Asqa (RA) "also repeated in the Meccan and Medinan [collections], except for some hadiths which I have established here, while the rest are in the Meccan and Medinan [collections]."
حديث واثلة بن الأسقع " معاد أيضا في المكيين والمدنيين (1) إلا أحاديث منها قد أثبتها هاهنا، وباقيها في المكيين والمدنيين "
Hadith 447:12
Ziyad ibn al-Rabi' narrated to us, he said: 'Abbad ibn Kathir al-Shami, from the people of Palestine, narrated to us, from a woman among them who is called Fusaylah, that she said: I heard my father saying: I asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and I said: "O Messenger of Allah, is it from tribalism (asabiyyah) that a man loves his people?" He said: "No, but it is from tribalism that a man supports his people in injustice." Abu 'Abd al-Rahman said: I heard those who mention from the people of knowledge that her father—meaning Fusaylah's—is Wathilah ibn al-Asqa'. And I saw my father place this hadith at the end of the hadiths of Wathilah, so I thought that he appended it to the hadith of Wathilah.
حدثنا زياد بن الربيع، قال: حدثنا عباد بن كثير الشامي، من أهل فلسطين، عن امرأة منهم يقال لها: فسيلة، أنها قالت: سمعت أبي، يقول: سألت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقلت: يا رسول الله أمن العصبية أن يحب الرجل قومه؟ قال: " لا، ولكن من العصبية أن ينصر الرجل قومه على الظلم " قال أبو عبد الرحمن: " سمعت من يذكر من أهل العلم أن أباها - يعني فسيلة - واثلة بن الأسقع، ورأيت أبي جعل هذا الحديث في آخر أحاديث واثلة، فظننت أنه ألحقه في حديث واثلة "
