Musnad Ahmad 447:6
Hadith of Wathila ibn al-Asqa (RA) "also repeated in the Meccan and Medinan [collections], except for some hadiths which I have established here, while the rest are in the Meccan and Medinan [collections]."
حديث واثلة بن الأسقع " معاد أيضا في المكيين والمدنيين (1) إلا أحاديث منها قد أثبتها هاهنا، وباقيها في المكيين والمدنيين "
Hadith 447:6
'Abdullah ibn Yazid narrated to us, he said: Sa'id—meaning Ibn Abi Ayyub—narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn 'Ajlan narrated to me, he said: I heard An-Nadr ibn 'Abdur-Rahman ibn 'Abdullah saying: I heard Wathilah ibn al-Asqa' saying: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "The greatest of fabrications is for a person to attribute to me what I did not say, or for a person to claim that his eyes saw in a dream what they did not see, or for a person to claim lineage to other than his father."
حدثنا عبد الله بن يزيد، قال: حدثنا سعيد يعني ابن أبي أيوب، قال: حدثني محمد بن عجلان، قال: سمعت النضر بن عبد الرحمن بن عبد الله، يقول: سمعت واثلة بن الأسقع، يقول: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " أعظم الفرى من يقولني ما لم أقل، ومن أرى عينيه في المنام ما لم تر ، ومن ادعى إلى غير أبيه "
