Hadith 258:10
Abu al-Nadr narrated to us, he said: Shayban narrated to us, from Layth, from Abu Burdah ibn Abi Musa, from Abu Mulayh ibn Usamah, from Wathilah ibn al-Asqa’, who said: I witnessed the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, one day, and a man came to him and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have committed one of the prescribed punishments (hadd) of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, so execute the punishment of Allah upon me." He turned away from him. Then he came to him a second time, and he turned away from him. Then he said it a third time, and he turned away from him. Then the prayer was established. When he finished the prayer, he came to him a fourth time and said: "I have committed one of the prescribed punishments of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, so execute the punishment of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, upon me." He said: So he called him and said: "Did you not perform the purification—or the ablution—well, then witness the prayer with us just now?" He said: "Yes." He said: "Go, for it is an expiation for you."
