Musnad Ahmad 258:4

'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, he said: Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to us, from Rabi'ah ibn Yazid, he said: I heard Wathilah ibn al-Asqa' saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying: "Indeed, the greatest of fabrications are three: that a man fabricates against his own eyes, saying: 'I saw,' when he did not see; and that he fabricates against his parents, by claiming to be the son of someone other than his father; or that he says: 'He heard from me,' when he did not hear from me."
