Hadith 390:1
Isma'il—meaning Ibn Ibrahim—narrated to us, he said: Husayn ibn Dhakwan narrated to us, from Ishaq ibn 'Abdullah ibn Abi Talha, from 'Abdullah ibn Muhammad, from a woman among them, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) entered upon me while I was eating with my left hand, and I was a left-handed woman. He struck my hand, and the morsel fell. He said: "Do not eat with your left hand, for Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, has given you a right hand," or he said: "Allah, Mighty and Majestic is He, has released your right hand for you." She said: So I shifted my left [hand] to my right, and I never ate with it [the left] after that.
حدثنا إسماعيل يعني ابن إبراهيم، قال: حدثنا حسين بن ذكوان، عن إسحاق بن عبد الله بن أبي طلحة، عن عبد الله بن محمد، عن امرأة منهم قالت: دخل علي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وأنا آكل بشمالي وكنت امرأة عسراء، فضرب يدي فسقطت اللقمة فقال: " لا تأكلي بشمالك وقد جعل الله تبارك وتعالى لك يمينا "، أو قال: " قد أطلق الله عز وجل لك يمينك "، قال: فتحولت شمالي يمينا فما أكلت بها بعد
