Hadith of Ya'la ibn Murrah al-Thaqafi (RA) from the Prophet (SAW)

Hadith 509:3

Waki’ narrated to us, al-Mas’udi narrated to us, from ‘Amr ibn Ya’la al-Thaqafi, from Ya’la ibn Murrah, who said: When the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, would stand for prayer, he would wipe the faces of his companions before he said the takbir. I had some *khuluq* (a type of perfume) on me, so the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, wiped the faces of his companions and left me out. He said: So I went back and washed it off, then I came for the next prayer, and he wiped my face and said: "The status of his religion has returned to goodness; he has repented, and the sky has poured forth."
