Hadith 586:10
Al-Haytham ibn Kharijah narrated to us, he said: Bashir ibn Talhah Abu Nasr al-Hadrami or al-Khushani narrated to us, from Khalid ibn Durayk, from Ya’la ibn Umayyah, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to send me on military expeditions. One day, he sent me on an expedition, and there was a man riding a mule. I said to him, "Prepare to depart, for the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, has sent me on an expedition." He said, "I am not going out with you." I said, "Why?" He said, "Until you give me three dinars." I said, "Now, having bid farewell to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, I am not going to return to him. Prepare to depart, and you shall have three dinars." When I returned from my expedition, I mentioned that to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. He said: "He has nothing from this expedition of his, nor from his worldly life, nor from his Hereafter, except the three dinars."
حدثنا الهيثم بن خارجة، قال: حدثنا بشير بن طلحة أبو نصر الحضرمي أو الخشني ، عن خالد بن دريك، عن يعلى بن أمية، قال: كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يبعثني في سرايا، فبعثني ذات يوم في سرية، وكان رجل يركب بغلا ، فقلت له: أرحل، فإن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قد بعثني في سرية، فقال: ما أنا بخارج معك، قلت: ولم؟ قال: حتى تجعل لي ثلاثة دنانير، قلت: الآن حيث ودعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، ما أنا براجع إليه، أرحل ولك ثلاثة دنانير، فلما رجعت من غزاتي، ذكرت ذلك للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقال: " ليس له من غزاته هذه، ومن دنياه، ومن آخرته، إلا ثلاثة الدنانير "
