Hadith of Ya‘la ibn Umayyah (RA)

Hadith 586:12

Abu ‘Asim narrated to us, ‘Abdullah ibn Umayyah ibn Abi ‘Uthman al-Qurashi narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Huyayy ibn Ya‘la ibn Umayyah narrated to us, from his father, he said: I saw Ya‘la praying before the sun rose. A man said to him—or it was said to him—: "You are a man from the companions of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and you pray before the sun rises?" Ya‘la said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say: 'Indeed, the sun rises between the two horns of a devil.'" Ya‘la said to him: "For it to rise while you are in the command of Allah is better than for it to rise while you are heedless."
