Hadith 586:15
Harun narrated to us, he said: Ibn Wahb informed us, he said: Amr ibn al-Harith informed me, from Ibn Shihab, from Amr ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Umayyah, the nephew of Ya'la ibn Umayyah, that he narrated to him that his father informed him that Ya'la ibn Umayyah said: I came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, with my father on the day of the Conquest, and I said to him: "O Messenger of Allah, accept the pledge of my father for the Hijrah (migration)." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Rather, I will accept his pledge for Jihad, for the Hijrah has ceased."
حدثنا هارون، قال: أخبرنا ابن وهب، قال: أخبرني عمرو بن الحارث، عن ابن شهاب، عن عمرو بن عبد الرحمن بن أمية، ابن أخي، يعلى بن أمية، حدثه أن أباه، أخبره أن يعلى بن أمية، قال: جئت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بأبي يوم الفتح، فقلت له: يا رسول الله، بايع أبي على الهجرة، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " بل أبايعه على الجهاد، وقد انقطعت الهجرة "
