Hadith 586:18
Sufyan narrated to us, from ‘Amr, from ‘Ata’, from Safwan ibn Ya‘la, from his father, who said: A man asked the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, while he was smeared with *khuluq* (a type of perfume) and wearing *muqatta‘at* (garments cut to fit the body), saying: "I have entered into the state of Ihram for ‘Umrah." He said: "Remove this, perform Ghusl (ritual washing), and do in your ‘Umrah what you do in your Hajj."
حدثنا سفيان، عن عمرو، عن عطاء، عن صفوان بن يعلى، عن أبيه، قال: سأل رجل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وهو متضمخ بخلوق، وعليه مقطعات، فقال: أهللت بعمرة، قال: " انزع هذه واغتسل، واصنع في عمرتك ما تصنع في حجك "
