Hadith 433:6
'Affan narrated to us, he said: Abu 'Awanah narrated to us, from 'Asim, from Abu Wa'il, from 'Uzrah ibn Qays, from Khalid ibn al-Walid, who said: The Commander of the Faithful wrote to me when the Levant was experiencing a lull—and 'Affan doubted once, he said: when the Levant was experiencing such and such—and he ordered me to march to al-Hind—and al-Hind in our minds at that time was Basra. He said: I was averse to that. He said: Then a man stood up and said to me: "O Abu Sulayman, fear Allah, for the tribulations have appeared." He said: So he replied: "And while Ibn al-Khattab is alive? They will only be after him. And the people will be in a state of affliction, or in a place of such and such, and a man will look and reflect: 'Will I find a place that has not been struck by the likes of what has struck his place regarding tribulation and evil?' And he will not find it." He said: "And those are the days which the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, mentioned: 'Before the Hour, there will be days of al-harj (killing/chaos).' We seek refuge in Allah that those days reach us and you."
حدثنا عفان، قال: حدثنا أبو عوانة، عن عاصم، عن أبي وائل، عن عزرة بن قيس، عن خالد بن الوليد، قال: كتب إلي أمير المؤمنين حين ألقى الشام بوانية: بثنية وعسلا - وشك عفان مرة، قال: حين ألقى الشام كذا وكذا - فأمرني أن أسير إلى الهند - والهند في أنفسنا يومئذ البصرة - قال: وأنا لذلك كاره، قال: فقام رجل، فقال لي: يا أبا سليمان، اتق الله، فإن الفتن قد ظهرت. قال: فقال: وابن الخطاب حي إنما تكون بعده، والناس بذي بليان، أو بذي بليان بمكان كذا وكذا، فينظر الرجل، فيتفكر: هل يجد مكانا لم ينزل به مثل ما نزل بمكانه الذي هو فيه من الفتنة والشر فلا يجده، قال: وتلك الأيام التي ذكر رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " بين يدي الساعة، أيام الهرج " فنعوذ بالله أن تدركنا تلك وإياكم الأيام
