Musnad Ahmad 487:3

Bahz narrated to us, Abu 'Awanah narrated to us, from Ya'la ibn 'Ata, from Jabir ibn Yazid ibn al-Aswad, from his father, who said: We performed Hajj with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) during the Farewell Pilgrimage. He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) led us in the morning prayer (Subh or Fajr). He said: Then he turned while sitting and faced the people with his face. He saw two men from behind the people who had not prayed with the people. He said: "Bring these two men to me." He said: They were brought, and their shoulders were trembling. He said: "What prevented you from praying with the people?" They said: O Messenger of Allah, we had already prayed in our dwellings. He said: "Do not do that. If one of you prays in his dwelling, then catches the prayer with the Imam, let him pray it with him, for it is a supererogatory prayer for him." He said: One of them said: Ask forgiveness for me, O Messenger of Allah. So he asked forgiveness for him. He said: The people rose toward the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and I rose with them, and I was on that day the youngest and strongest of the men. He said: I continued to push through the people until I reached the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and I took his hand and placed it either on my face or my chest. He said: I have never found anything more fragrant or cooler than the hand of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He said: And he was on that day in the Mosque of Khayf.
