Hadith 784:1
Hashim narrated to us, [he said] Uthman ibn Hakim al-Ansari informed us, from Kharijah ibn Zayd, from his uncle Yazid ibn Thabit, who said: We went out with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. When we arrived at al-Baqi', there was a new grave. He asked about it, and it was said: "[It is] so-and-so [woman]." He recognized her and said: "Why did you not inform me about her?" They said: "O Messenger of Allah, you were resting and fasting, so we disliked to disturb you." He said: "Do not do [that]. Let no one among you die while I am in your midst without you informing me about him, for my prayer over him is a mercy for him." He said: Then he went to the grave, and we lined up behind him, and he performed four takbirs over it.
حدثنا هشيم، أخبرنا عثمان بن حكيم الأنصاري، عن خارجة بن زيد، عن عمه يزيد بن ثابت، قال: خرجنا مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فلما وردنا البقيع، إذا هو بقبر جديد، فسأل عنه، فقيل: فلانة، فعرفها، فقال: " ألا آذنتموني بها؟ " قالوا: يا رسول الله، كنت قائلا صائما، فكرهنا أن نؤذنك، فقال: " لا تفعلوا، لا يموتن فيكم ميت ما كنت بين أظهركم ألا آذنتموني به، فإن صلاتي عليه له رحمة " قال: ثم أتى القبر فصفنا خلفه وكبر عليه أربعا
