Hadith 824:1
Yazid narrated to us, Kahmas ibn al-Hasan informed us, Abdullah ibn Shaqiq narrated to us, a man from Anazah called Zaidah or Mazidah ibn Hawalah narrated to me, he said: We were with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, on one of his journeys. The people stopped at a place, and the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, stopped in the shade of a large tree. He saw me while I was approaching from a need of mine, and there was no one else there except him and his scribe. He said: "Shall we write you down, O Ibn Hawalah?" I said: "For what, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Turn away from me," and he turned to the scribe. He said: Then I drew closer than that. He said: He said: "Shall we write you down, O Ibn Hawalah?" I said: "For what, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Turn away from me," and he turned to the scribe. He said: Then I came and stood over them, and behold, at the beginning of the document were Abu Bakr and Umar. I thought that they would not be written down except for something good. He said: "Shall we write you down, O Ibn Hawalah?" I said: "Yes, O Prophet of Allah." He said: "O Ibn Hawalah, what will you do during a tribulation that rises in the regions of the earth as if it were the horns of cattle?" I said: "What should I do, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "You must go to Ash-Sham." Then he said: "What will you do during a tribulation in which the first of it is like the leaping of a hare?" He said: I do not know what he said regarding the latter part of it. And that I had known what he said regarding the latter part of it is more beloved to me than such and such.
