Hadith 771:16
Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Isma'il, [who said]: Al-Harith ibn Shubayl narrated to me, from Abu 'Amr al-Shaybani, from Zayd ibn Arqam, who said: A man would speak to his companion during the time of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, regarding a need while in prayer, until this verse was revealed: "And stand before Allah, devoutly obedient" [Al-Baqarah: 238]. So we were commanded to be silent.
حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد، عن إسماعيل، حدثني الحارث بن شبيل، عن أبي عمرو الشيباني، عن زيد بن أرقم قال: كان الرجل يكلم صاحبه على عهد النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم في الحاجة في الصلاة، حتى نزلت هذه الآية: " {وقوموا لله قانتين} [البقرة: 238] ، " فأمرنا بالسكوت "
