Hadith 771:3
Isma'il ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, from Abu Hayyan al-Taymi, Yazid ibn Hayyan al-Taymi narrated to me, he said: I, Husayn ibn Sabra, and 'Umar ibn Muslim set out to Zayd ibn Arqam. When we sat with him, Husayn said to him: "O Zayd, you have indeed encountered much good. You saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), heard his speech, fought alongside him, and prayed with him. You have indeed encountered much good, O Zayd. Narrate to us, O Zayd, what you heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)." He said: "O son of my brother, by Allah, my age has become great, my time has passed, and I have forgotten some of what I used to retain from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). So, whatever I narrate to you, accept it, and what I do not, do not burden me with it." Then he said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood one day to deliver a sermon among us at a watering place called Khumm, between Makkah and Madinah. He praised Allah the Exalted and extolled Him, and he exhorted and reminded. Then he said: 'To proceed: O people, I am only a human being; it is near that the messenger of my Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, will come to me, and I will respond. I am leaving among you two weighty things: the first of them is the Book of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, in which is guidance and light. So take hold of the Book of Allah, the Exalted, and hold fast to it.'" He encouraged the Book of Allah and desired it. He said: "'And the people of my house (Ahl al-Bayt). I remind you of Allah regarding the people of my house. I remind you of Allah regarding the people of my house. I remind you of Allah regarding the people of my house.'" Husayn said to him: "And who are the people of his house, O Zayd? Are his wives not from the people of his house?" He said: "His wives are from the people of his house, but the people of his house are those for whom charity is forbidden after him." He said: "And who are they?" He said: "They are the family of 'Ali, the family of 'Aqil, the family of Ja'far, and the family of 'Abbas." He said: "Is charity forbidden for all of them?" He said: "Yes."
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
