Hadith 771:42
Husayn narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, 'Amr ibn Murrah informed me, he said: I heard Ibn Abi Layla narrating from Zayd ibn Arqam, he said: When we used to come to him, we would say: "Narrate to us about the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace." He said: "We have grown old and have forgotten, and narrating from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, is difficult."
حدثنا حسين، حدثنا شعبة، أخبرني عمرو بن مرة، قال: سمعت ابن أبي ليلى يحدث، عن زيد بن أرقم قال: كنا إذا جئناه قلنا: حدثنا عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " إنا قد كبرنا ونسينا ، والحديث عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم شديد "
