Hadith 771:53
Waki’ narrated to us, Mis’ar narrated to us, from Abu Ayyub, a freed slave of Banu Tha’labah, from Qutbah ibn Malik, who said: One of the commanders insulted Ali, may Allah be pleased with him. Zayd ibn Arqam stood up and said: "Do you not know that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, forbade the insulting of the dead? Why then do you insult Ali, when he has died?"
حدثنا وكيع، حدثنا مسعر، عن أبي أيوب، مولى لبني ثعلبة، عن قطبة بن مالك، قال: سب أمير من الأمراء عليا رضي الله تعالى عنه، فقام زيد بن أرقم فقال: أما أن قد علمت " أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم نهى عن سب الموتى "، فلم تسب عليا وقد مات ؟
