Hadith 771:76
Muhammad ibn Ja’far and Bahz narrated to us, they said: Shu’bah narrated to us, from Habib, he said: I heard Abu al-Minhal—Bahz said: Habib ibn Abi Thabit informed me, he said: I heard Abu al-Minhal, a man from the Banu Kinanah, say: I asked al-Bara’ ibn ‘Azib about *al-sarf* (currency exchange). He said: "Ask Zayd ibn Arqam, for he is better than me and more knowledgeable." He said: So I asked Zayd, and he said: "Ask al-Bara’, for he is better than me and more knowledgeable." He said: Then they both said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade the selling of silver for gold on credit."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر، وبهز قالا: حدثنا شعبة، عن حبيب، قال: سمعت أبا المنهال قال بهز: أخبرنى حبيب بن أبى ثابت قال: سمعت أبا المنهال رجلا من بني كنانة قال: سألت البراء بن عازب عن الصرف؟ فقال: سل زيد بن أرقم فإنه خير مني وأعلم، قال: فسألت زيدا، فقال: سل البراء فإنه خير مني وأعلم، قال: فقالا جميعا: " نهى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن بيع الورق بالذهب دينا "
