Hadith of Zayd ibn Arqam (RA)

Hadith 771:86

Hajjaj narrated to us, from Yunus ibn Abi Ishaq, and Isma'il ibn 'Umar, who said: Yunus ibn Abi Ishaq narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from Zayd ibn Arqam, who said: I was afflicted with ophthalmia, so the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, visited me. He said: "When I recovered, I went out." He said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said to me: "What would you have done if your eyes were as they are [afflicted]?" He said: I said: "If my eyes were as they are, I would have been patient and sought the reward from Allah." He said: "If your eyes were as they are, and then you were patient and sought the reward from Allah, you would have met Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, with no sin upon you." Isma'il said: "And then you were patient and sought the reward from Allah, Allah would have made Paradise incumbent for you."

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
