Musnad Ahmad 938:15

Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, 'Umar ibn Sulayman—from the descendants of 'Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him—narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Aban ibn 'Uthman, from his father, that Zayd ibn Thabit went out from Marwan at about midday. We said: "He did not send for him at this hour except for something he asked him about." So I stood up and went to him and asked him. He said: "Yes, he asked us about things I heard from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say: 'May Allah brighten a man who hears a hadith from us, then memorizes it until he conveys it to someone else; for perhaps the bearer of jurisprudence is not a jurist, and perhaps the bearer of jurisprudence conveys it to one who is more of a jurist than him.'" "There are three qualities that the heart of a Muslim will never harbor malice toward: sincerity of action for Allah, offering sincere advice to those in authority, and adhering to the community, for their supplication encompasses those behind them." He also said: "Whoever makes the Hereafter his concern, Allah will gather his affairs for him, place his richness in his heart, and the world will come to him while it is submissive. And whoever makes the world his intention, Allah will scatter his affairs for him, place his poverty between his eyes, and nothing of the world will come to him except what has been decreed for him." And he asked us about the middle prayer, and it is the Dhuhr prayer.
