Musnad Ahmad 938:37

Hassan ibn Musa narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, Abdullah ibn Hubayrah narrated to us, he said: I heard Qabisah ibn Dhu'ayb saying: Aisha informed the family of al-Zubayr that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, prayed two rak'ahs with her after the Asr prayer, so they used to pray them. Qabisah said: Zayd ibn Thabit said: May Allah forgive Aisha; we are more knowledgeable about the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, than Aisha. That was only because some people from the Bedouins came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, at midday, and they sat asking him questions and he was giving them religious rulings, until he prayed the Dhuhr prayer and did not pray the two rak'ahs. Then he sat giving them rulings until he prayed the Asr prayer, then he departed to his house. He remembered that he had not prayed anything after the Dhuhr prayer, so he prayed them after the Asr prayer. May Allah forgive Aisha; we are more knowledgeable about the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, than Aisha. "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, forbade prayer after the Asr prayer."
