Musnad Ahmad 938:52

'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, Malik narrated to us, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar, from Zayd ibn Thabit: "That the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) granted a concession to the owner of the 'ariyya (a date palm tree given as a gift) to sell it for its estimated value in dried dates."
