Musnad Ahmad 938:83

Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, Abu Mas'ud al-Jurayri informed us, from Abu Nadra, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, from Zayd ibn Thabit, who said: We were with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, in one of the gardens of Medina, in which there were graves. He was upon his mule, and it shied away with him, and it almost threw him off. He said: "Who knows the occupants of these graves?" A man said: "O Messenger of Allah, people who perished in the Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic era)." He said: "Were it not that you would not bury one another, I would have supplicated to Allah to let you hear the punishment of the grave." Then he said to us: "Seek refuge in Allah from the punishment of Hellfire." We said: "We seek refuge in Allah from the punishment of Hellfire." Then he said: "Seek refuge in Allah from the trial of the False Messiah (al-Masih al-Dajjal)." We said: "We seek refuge in Allah from the trial of the False Messiah." Then he said: "Seek refuge in Allah from the punishment of the grave." We said: "We seek refuge in Allah from the punishment of the grave." Then he said: "Seek refuge in Allah from the trial of life and death." We said: "We seek refuge in Allah from the trial of life and death."
