Hadith of Zaynab (RA), the wife of Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (RA)

Hadith 1180:5

'Affan narrated to us, 'Abd al-Wahid ibn Ziyad narrated to us, al-A'mash narrated to us, from Jami' ibn Shaddad, from Kulthum, who said: Zaynab was picking lice from the head of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and with him was the wife of 'Uthman ibn Maz'un and women from the Emigrants (Muhajirat) complaining about their dwellings, and that they were being made to leave them, and that they were becoming too narrow for them. Zaynab spoke and left the head of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "You are not speaking with your eyes; speak and do your work." So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered on that day that the women of the Emigrants be given inheritance. 'Abdullah died, and his wife inherited a house in Medina from him.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
