Hadith 1018:73

Ishaq ibn Isa narrated to us, Malik informed me, from Zayd ibn Aslam, from a man of Banu Damrah, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was asked about the *aqiqah* (slaughtering for a newborn). He said: "I do not like *al-uquq* (disobedience/severing ties)," as if he disliked the name. And he said: "Whoever has a child born to him, and he wishes to perform a sacrifice (*nusuk*) for his child, then let him do so."
