Musnad Ahmad 33:1013

Ziyad ibn Abdullah ibn al-Tufayl narrated to us, and Abdullah said: I heard my father say once: Ziyad ibn Abdullah ibn al-Tufayl al-Buka’i al-‘Amiri narrated to us, Mansur narrated to us, from Salim, from Jabir ibn Abdullah, who said: A boy was born to a man among us, and he named him Muhammad. We said: We will not let you name him Muhammad, after the name of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. The man brought his son to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said: O Messenger of Allah, a boy was born to me, and I named him with your name, but my people refused to let me. He said: "Indeed, name yourselves with my name, but do not use my kunya (patronymic), for I am a distributor, distributing among you."
