Musnad Ahmad 33:1042

Al-Khuza'i narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah informed us, Abu al-Zubayr informed us, from Jabir, that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, forbade onions and leeks at the time of Khaybar. A group of people ate them, then they came to the mosque. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Did I not forbid these two foul-smelling plants?" They said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah, but hunger compelled us." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Whoever eats them, let him not attend our mosque, for the angels are offended by that which the children of Adam are offended by."
