Musnad Ahmad 33:1046

Mu'ammal narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir, who said: We went out with the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, having entered the state of Ihram for Hajj. We arrived in Makkah and performed Tawaf around the House, and [walked between] al-Safa and al-Marwah. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Exit the state of Ihram and make it an 'Umrah, except for those who have brought the sacrificial animal." He said: The incense burners emitted smoke, and [some] had relations with their wives. When the Day of Tarwiyah arrived, we entered the state of Ihram for Hajj. Suraqah ibn Malik ibn Ju'sham said: "O Messenger of Allah, is this 'Umrah of ours for this year of ours or for eternity?" He said: "No, rather it is for eternity."
