Hashim narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from al-Jurayri, from Abu Nadrah, who said: Jabir ibn Abdullah said: We wanted to sell our houses and move closer to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, for the sake of the prayer. He said: So I mentioned that to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he said: "O so-and-so" — to a man from the Ansar — "keep your houses, for your footsteps are being recorded."
