Musnad Ahmad 33:1114

Hassan al-Ashyab narrated to us, Shayban narrated to us, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Abu Salamah, that Jabir ibn Abdullah informed him: "That the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) decreed regarding the *‘umra* (gift of a house for life) that it belongs to the one to whom it was gifted."
