Musnad Ahmad 33:1139

Musa ibn Dawud narrated to us, Zuhayr narrated to us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Close the doors, tie the waterskins, cover the vessels, and extinguish the lamps; for indeed, Satan does not open a closed door, nor does he untie a knot, nor does he uncover a vessel. And indeed, the little wicked one (the mouse) sets the house on fire upon its inhabitants. Do not let your livestock and your children out when the sun sets until the darkness of the night (the first part of the night) passes, for indeed, the devils are sent forth when the sun sets until the darkness of the night passes."
