Musnad Ahmad 33:1149

'Attab narrated to us, 'Abdullah narrated to us, 'Umar ibn Salamah ibn Abi Yazid informed me, my father narrated to me, he said: Jabir said to me: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entered upon me, so I intended to go to a goat to slaughter it, and it bleated, and he heard its bleating. He said: "O Jabir, do not cut off milk, nor offspring." I said: O Prophet of Allah, it is only a young goat that I fed with dates and fresh dates until it became fat.
