Musnad Ahmad 33:124

Waki’ narrated to us, from Sufyan, from al-Aswad ibn Qays, from Nabih, from Jabir, who said: "The companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to walk in front of him when he went out, and they would leave his back for the angels."
