Musnad Ahmad 33:18

'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Dawud ibn Qays narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Ata', that he heard the two sons of Jabir narrating from their father, who said: While the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was sitting with his companions, he tore his shirt until he emerged from it. It was said to him [regarding that], and he said: "I had made an appointment with them to imitate my guidance today, and I forgot."
