Musnad Ahmad 33:251

Abu Mu'awiyah and Ibn Numayr narrated to us, they said: Al-A'mash narrated to us, from Abu Sufyan, from Jabir, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said — and Ibn Numayr said in his narration: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Indeed, Satan has despaired that the worshippers will worship him, but [he seeks to sow] discord among them."
