Musnad Ahmad 33:270

Abu Mu’awiyah and Ibn Abi Ghaniyah narrated to us—the meaning is the same—they said: Al-A’mash narrated to us, from Abu Sufyan, from Jabir, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entered upon Umm Salamah—Ibn Abi Ghaniyah said: He entered upon ‘Aishah—with a young boy whose nostrils were bleeding. Abu Mu’awiyah said in his narration: And with her was a young boy whose nostrils were gushing blood. He said: So he said: "What is the matter with this one?" They said: He has *al-‘udrah* (tonsillitis/throat inflammation). He said: So he said: "Why do you torture your children? It is sufficient for one of you to take Indian incense (*al-qist al-hindi*), scrape it with water seven times, and then pour it into his mouth." Ibn Abi Ghaniyah said: Then administer it to him through the nose. They did so, and he recovered.
